Match on Action is an extremely useful film editing technique. It is a series of shots that present different angles of the same action in a continuous way to make out that the action is fluent. This can be done by one camera or a few cameras. This editing technique is effective as it presents the action to be more natural instead of displaying the action in several jumpy shots or in one continuous shot. This technique is used for continuity editing and also allows the audience to view several aspects of the action while it is taking place. For example, someone shown walking towards a door and then reaching for the door handle. The example below shows this.
